ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNIQUES: A NEW APPROACH ON RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEERING
ABSTRACT:
The continued uses of fossil fuels as energy source at the last decades, has caused great damages to environment with repercussions as climate change and global warming. In response to this problem, several countries have adopted energy policies aimed at counteracting these effects through the use of renewable energies. However, the development of clean technologies based on these sources of energy has faced several engineering challenges that make it difficult to obtain the greatest cost-benefit. In this context, Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, have been applied as suitable tool in the solution of engineering problems associated with the development of renewable energy projects. Al techniques have been used for the forecasting meteorological data, operational and economic modelling of renewable energy systems, and the optimization in the operation performance of the new clean technologies, to name a few. Obtaining outstanding results compared to conventional techniques implemented, and giving relevance to its implementation in this new area of engineering.
